Soldiers, civilian nabbed with Kerala ganja

Two soldiers and another person, who had been arrested by Aranagalwila Police when transporting a stock of Kerala ganja were produced before Polonnaruwa Magistrate Asela De Silva and remanded till July 31.

The suspects, Saman Ananda Wimalasiri, and Herath Mudiyanselage Samantha Bandara Udugoda were soldiers attached to an Army camp in the Mahakanadarawa area in Mihintale and the other was a former soldier Rankirage Samantha Wijesinghe.The Police said they lay in ambush on information from the public and seized the stock of Kerala ganja in transit and arrested the suspects.  A Police team under OIC Aralaganwila Police CI K.P.W. Premalal led the raid.
