Speaker tweets: Ranil recognised as opposition leader

In a tweet, Speaker Karu Jayasuriya said leader of the United National Front for Good Governance (UNFGG) Ranil Wickremesinghe was recognised as the opposition leader upholding established parliamentary traditions.   

His tweet said, “Recognition of the UNFGG leader as the opposition leader was done upholding established parliamentary traditions that should not be violated. While I empathise with the challengers too, it is best that a party’s internal disputes are settled from within.”
