Stage two of offshore fish breeding project commences at Galle

Stage two of the project to create offshore fish breeding grounds by sinking condemned railway compartments, buses and trawlers in the sea commenced yesterday at the Galle Fisheries Harbor with State Minister of Fisheries Kanchana Wijesekara.   

Several buses condemned by the SLTB were sunk in the sea about 13km off the shore. State Minister Wijesekara said the program commenced from Trincomalee about three months ago and it was a success. He said the several condemned buses would be sunk in several locations in the sea off the southern coast as well.
