‘Tactile ballot paper’ for visually-impaired voters in Presidential poll for first time

A special ballot paper called ‘tactile ballot paper’ would be introduced for the benefit of the visually-impaired voters in the upcoming Presidential election for the first time, Chairman of the Elections Commission Saman Sri Rathnayake has informed a Parliamentary Committee.  

He told the Sectoral Oversight Committee on an Open and Accountable Government, that several steps have been planned to facilitate differently abled people in the upcoming election.  
The chairman has also informed the committee that steps have also been taken to introduce 320 election related sign language vocabulary to benefit hearing-impaired people.
