‘The Newspaper’ wins best movie award

A film produced by Trade Minister Dr. Bandula Gunawardane and co-directed by Sarath Kotalawala and Kumara Tirimadura

The film “The Newspaper” has won the award for the best movie in the Asian Cinema Competition at the 2022 Bengaluru International Film Festival (BIFFes).  

The film festival is organized by the Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy for the Government of Karnataka. The 13th edition of BIFFes was held from March 3 to 10.  

It is a film produced by Trade Minister Dr. Bandula Gunawardane and co-directed by Sarath Kotalawala and Kumara Tirimadura. The film was launched in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.
