Thirty Trade Unions affiliated to Sri Lanka Teacher Service had decided not to report for duty n September 26 and 27 as a sick leave protest.
President of All Ceylon United Teachers Association Ven. Galewela Pannasekera Thera said that a picketing campaign would be held in front of Fort Railway Station on September 26 morning on the sides of this Trade Union action.
He said that the Trade Union Action would be based on five main demands- Pension Rights for the Teachers of Pirivenas and Government Assisted Schools, which is deprived of since 2016, freeing teachers from unnecessary filling of forms during administrative issues, Allocation of 6% of GDP for education and Salary increments for Principals and Teachers by removing their salary anomalies.
