Three independent groups pay deposits to contest at general election

Three independent groups and a political party yesterday paid deposits to contest the upcoming general election.   

The three independent groups are led by Mohamed Sadiq Mohamed Ihshan, Mohamed Mohideen Faizal and Kandasamy Inkarasah.   
District Secretary and District Returning Officer Chaminda Hettiarachchi said the Asst. Commissioner of Elections R.Sasilan was in charge of accepting the deposits.   

Meanwhile Trincomalee District Organiser of Eelam People’s Democratic Party (EPDP) T,Pushparasah said EPDP under the former Minister Douglas Devananda would field candidates to contest for all the districts in the North and East and the Colombo district,   

He said the nominations were being processed at present.
