Two arrested with pistol, ballistic body armour in Kegalle

The STF arrested two suspects including the manager of a hotel possessing a pistol and a ballistic body armour during two raids in Kegalle yesterday. Initially, the STF arrested a 32-year-old suspect with an Italian made 9 mm pistol and a magazine at Kuruminiyagoda in Kegalle on Saturday night following a tip-off. After further questioning the suspect, the STF raided a hotel at Ranwala in Kegalle. They recovered a special ballistic body armour from a hotel room and arrested the manager of the hotel. The 25-year-old suspect was identified as a resident of Bulathkohupitiya. Both suspects were handed over to the Kegalle Police and to be produced in Court. The raids carried out by an STF team led by CI Nadeeka Silva on the instructions of the STF Commandant.
