Under 17 Cricket Iruth’s ton helps Ananda record big win

A swashbuckling knock of 149 off 141 deliveries inclusive of 15 boundaries and six sixes by Iruth Gimshan paved the way for Ananda to record a 177 runs win over D.S. Senanayake College (DSS) in their Under 17 inter-school cricket match played at Wijerama Mawatha.    Batting first Iruth was involved in two valuable partnerships first of 72 runs for the third wicket with Viduna Wijebandara (46) and the other of 154 runs for the fourth wicket with Sachin Jayasinghe (67) for Ananda to make a tall score of 315 for 5. DSS in their turn was able to muster a score of only 138 runs.   

Dhanuja Induwara top scored with 122 to steer Mahinda to a convincing 161 runs win over Sri Devananda MV Ambalangoda while Isipathana, Thurstan, St Joseph Vaz Wennappuwa, Devapathiraja MMV Rathgama, Bandaranayake MMV Gampaha and Mahanama Colombo came out victorious in the other matches that were played.
