The LIRNEasia is hosting an exclusive forum titled “Unlocking Data for Artificial Intelligence in Sri Lanka” on December 7, 2024, at the ITC Ratnadipa Hotel in Colombo to explore AI’s transformative potential and its implications for the country’s sustainable growth.

For Sri Lanka, AI presents a unique opportunity to leapfrog traditional development hurdles. With the right data infrastructure, AI can revolutionise key sectors including healthcare, agriculture, education, environment and so on.

However, challenges remain. Fragmented governance, limited access to reliable datasets, and unclear regulatory frameworks are barriers that must be addressed.

This forum will provide practical strategies for overcoming these hurdles and propose national-level policy recommendations to ensure AI innovation is responsible, fair, and sustainable.
Participants will gain insights into how other countries with similar development contexts have overcome data-related barriers.

The workshop will also explore actionable strategies to drive AI adoption while safeguarding ethical considerations like privacy and accountability.

This exclusive, invitation-only forum will bring together policymakers, data scientists, industry leaders, and innovators. Those interested in attending are invited to email [email protected] with their name, designation, and organisation to request an invitation.
