Victoria reservoir still remains dry

Despite the rains experienced in the Central hill country, the water levels at the Victoria reservoir remain low.   With the dry season the ruins of the old Teldeniya town which was submerged with the waters of the reservoir had now surfaced. The residents of the area are undergoing severe difficulties owing to the lack of sufficient water. There are ninety three grama seva divisions in Teldeniya and a majority of those living here are faced with severe difficulties owing to lack of drinking water. They urge the authorities for a permanent solution to this issue.
