Visitors restricted to prisons during Sinhala/Hindu New Year

Visitors will not be allowed to visit prison inmates for the Sinhala/Hindu New Year this year, the Prisons Department said.

As usual, only two guests are allowed to visit a prisoner once a month, Prison Spokesman Chandana Ekanayake said.

He said the decision had been taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
