Wijeya Newspapers Chairman honoured

Chairman of Wijeya Newspapers, Ranjith Wijewardene, was honoured as a visionary leader and pioneer of the Sri Lankan printing industry at an award ceremony organized by the Ingrin Academy of Printing and Graphics, that was held at the BMICH, recently.

Deputy Chairman of Wijeya Newspapers, Sujan Wijewardene accepted the award on behalf of his father from Minister Buddha Sasana and Cultural Affairs Vidura Wickramanayaka. The event was also graced by the presence of Ananda Wickramaratne, Managing Director and CEO and Gamini Marambe, former Chairman of Ingrin.  

Ingrin is an initiative of the Late Kingsley Wickramaratne, former Minister of International Trade, and operated from the former Sathosa Printers building at D. R. Wijewardene Mawatha.  

 Also, an exceptional printer, J.M.D. Dilan Chaminda of Printcare Plc, was awarded the Master Printer of Sri Lanka award. He had completed an Ingrin Higher Diploma in Printing and has 31 years of service in the printing industry.
