Woman hands over children to police

A 28 year old woman who left her three children with the Women and Children’s Bureau of the Hatton police and ran towards Hatton railway station to commit suicide by jumping before the train was saved by the police.  

She told police that she decided to take her life due to the harrasment of her husband and requested police to take charge of her four children. However her husband stated that she was suffering from stress and needed treatment.   
However, the four children were handed over to their father and on his request the woman was admitted to the Dikoya base hospital for medical examination and treatment.   

Police said her husband was employed in Colombo and that she often quarelled with him.
