woman kills husband, surrenders to police

A woman of Yatiwawala  in Katugastoga who hacked to death her husband surrendered to Katugastota police last morning. 


She informed the police her husband was constantly under the influence of liquor and often assaulted her and harassed the two children. 

 
She told the police that on the night in question -Monday night the day liquor shops reopened after a week- he returned in an inebriated state, and she was forced to kill him  as she could not tolerate the harassment she and the children were put through. 


Further investigations into the crime are being conducted on  instructions of OIC Katugastota police Chief Inspector W.M.S.Uvindasiri, by OIC Crime Investigation Branch CI Nalin, and SI Ananda.


While investigations are in progress, the two children have been left to the care of their grandmother The suspect woman is to be produced in Court.
