In an effort to create a healthy nation, AIA Insurance has organised a 100,000 steps challenge to encourage the public to start their fitness journey for the year 2022.
Providing a little nudge to start on the new year resolution and keeping true to the brand promise of helping people live healthier, longer, and better lives, the entity has kicked off the ‘Walk to Give with AIA Insurance - 100,000 Steps Challenge’.

By the end of the program AIA will make a Rs. 1 million donation to the Sri Lanka Cancer Society and the Lanka Alzheimer’s Foundation.
“We are delighted to start the New Year by giving back to society. This is not just a one-off initiative, as a brand we have been actively helping Sri Lankans overcome the risk of non-communicable diseases for healthier, longer, better lives. The most significant initiative of them all is the ongoing 3 year partnership with Sri Lanka Cancer Society where we donate Rs. 100 for every policy sold,” said AIA AGM Marketing Shevanthie De Alwis while highlighting the importance of the initiative.
Commenting on the challenge, Ayubo.life Co-Founder/CEO Chandima Cooray pointed out that health is a human right and if there is any good that came out of these two years of Covid-19 pandemic, it has to be the way it made us prioritise physical and mental health like never before.
“Our core philosophy revolves around creating healthier nations by making living healthy easy, affordable and fun. Therefore, we take pride in being able to partner the AIA’s Walk to Give 100,000 steps challenge which not only helps Sri Lankans live healthier, longer, better lives but also creates awareness on two leading non communicable diseases in Sri Lanka,” said Cooray.
