Airline Representatives Assn. plans out key initiatives for the future

The 28th Annual General Meeting of The Sri Lanka Association of Airline Representatives (SLAAR), was held on October 28th at the Taj Samudra hotel Colombo and the newly elected committee held their first committee meeting recently to plan out activities for the year ahead.


SLAAR’s membership consists of Passenger & Cargo Airline General Sales Agencies (GSAs)andthe Association’s primary objective is to address common issues related to the industry while safeguarding policies and interests of the Airline Principals represented by its members. 


Several initiatives revolving around industry affairs, training& development, PR & social media, social events, and CSR were planned outto align with the vision of SLAAR to become a trusted voice in the aviation industry in Sri Lanka. SLAAR strives to add value to the industry and its stakeholders through these initiatives. 


The newly appointed committee of SLAAR consist of Thanuja Lankathilake (Chairperson – GSA Air India), Gerard Victoria (Immediate Past Chairman – Hayleys Aviation), Gyan Amerasinghe (Deputy Chairman – GSA Emirates), Shamith Wijethilake (Secretary – GSA Maldivian Airlines), Dumindu Amarathunge (Treasurer - Leisure Cargo Lanka), Srimath Fernando (Asst. Treasurer – GSA Saudia), Chaminda Silva (Committee Member – GSA Jazeera Airways), Niranjan Athapaththu (Committee Member – GSA Kuwait Airways), Praharshini Bolling (Committee Member – GSA Singapore Airline), Sudeshinie Jayawardena (Committee Member – GSA British Airways), Sashini Muthuthanthri (Committee Member – GSA Indigo), Sajith Amarasekera (Committee Member – GSA Malaysia Airlines) and Santhush Udumalagala (Committee Member – GSA Malindo Air).
