In light of the current economic and financial situation in Sri Lanka, Damro stepped up to extend a helping hand towards families who are facing extreme difficulties.

Several stories of families facing financial and economic hardship during these trying times, were broadcasted on various media channels and were featured in various media publications. These stories include those about parents who can no longer provide meals for their children, and pay the rent for their house.

In an effort to extend support, Damro has stepped up to provide affected people with much needed relief in the form of dry rations. As such, Rs. 100 million has been allocated by Damro to provide relief packages for needy families throughout this year.

A thousand families will be selected from various areas across the country. A maximum of ten deserving families from each divisional secretariat will be chosen to receive dry rations worth Rs. 10, 000 which will be distributed monthly throughout the year.

The funds allocated by Damro will be utilised purely to provide dry rations for these selected families.
