FIA holds annual general assembly in Paris

Federation Internationale De l’Automobile (FIA), the largest motoring organization in the world, held its Annual General Assembly followed with prize giving in Paris in mid-December. 


Dhammika Attygalle, President and Devapriya Hettiarachchi Secretary of the Automobile Association of Ceylon (AAC) attended the Assembly.


At the assembly, Mohammed Ben Sulayem of UAE was elected as President for the next four years, which was well supported by AAC from the inception forhis candidature.He was the first non- European to hold this post. He received two third majority against his rival Britain’s Graham Stoker.
Sulayem replaces Jean Todt who stands down after 12 years at the helm.
