Fairfirst Way refers to Fairfirst Insurance’s commitment to do good for the community that it serves.
In line with this, Fairfirst Insurance recently donated 100 computers to the Department of Probation and Child Care Services to uplift and empower children’s education across several child development centres on the island.
As we know, COVID-19 has impacted the lives of many, including billions of children across the world thus, resulting in a massive disruption in their day-to-day lives, i.e. specially their education. Whilst online education has been identified as the antidote for this social dilemma, in Sri Lanka, this disruption is raising many questions as there is a clear gap in the availability of technological resources and infrastructure to engage in online education.
Hence Fairfirst, as a company that recognises the power of meaningful social engagement, has focused on this social cause to bridge the education gap that could seriously hinder the human capital development of Sri Lanka’s future generation. It is truly enriching to realise that this simple gesture could have a life-changing impact on these children as they contribute to the betterment of this beautiful country.
Sandeep Gopal, Chief Executive Officer of Fairfirst states, “Two aspects that will define the future of Sri Lanka are the children and technology. And the fact is that one is incomplete without the other. So, it is our duty and responsibility to empower our children by readying them with the right resources as a step towardsproviding them equal opportunities to succeed and make an impact on society. “I am so happy that we had the opportunity to help create a better future for the country by donating these computers to the orphanages. We are here, together, to help each other progress, to shine and to nurture the optimism of our future generations.”
