Hirdaramani wins Gold at JASTECA 5S Awards

The Hirdaramani group bagged the prestigious Gold award from the Japan Sri Lanka Technical and Cultural Association (JASTECA) in recognition of its achievements in implementing 5S Systems across the group.


Following a meticulous evaluation and audit process that extended across multiple rounds by a panel of experts, the group won a total of six awards, including the Gold award to Hirdaramani Knit Eheliyagoda. Four merit awards were won by Hirdaramani Knit Agalawatta, Seethawaka, Texwood and Weliweriya. The highlight of the evening was when the group received the apparel sector award.


JASTECA President Athulla R.F. Edirisinghe praised Hirdaramani Knit Eheliyagoda reiterating the factory’s commitments in implementing 5S. He also extended his gratitude and commendation at the management for encouraging the team to achieve this goal amidst tough competition.


Knit Cluster CEO Idrajith Kumarasiri highlighted the dedication and hard work put on by the Hirdaramani factories in winning these awards. “We are very proud of the Eheliyagoda team for winning the Gold award and the other factories in the Knit Cluster for their exceptional showing this year” he said.  


Kumarasiri also expressed his gratitude towards the JASTECA for its ongoing commitment to promote 5S and hosting the event for the past 19 years.
