INSEE Cement handed over 10,000 doses of Erythropoietin (EPO) vaccinations to the Ministry of Health recently to address the shortage of medicine resulting from Sri Lanka’s current economic crisis.
The donation valued at Rs. 40 million, and procured and financed by Siam City Cement Public Limited, INSEE Cement Sri Lanka’s parent company,was made by INSEE Cement Sri Lanka in response to an urgent request by the Ministry of Health on the need to treat anaemiain patients suffering fromChronic Kidney Disease (CKD),a highly prevalent condition in rural areas of the country.
The handover was graced by the Director General of Health Services of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Asela Gunawardena and Director – Medical Technology Services, Dr. Anver Hamdani, Poj Harnpol, Ambassador, Royal Thai Embassy, and Peerapat Tongrod, First Secretary, Royal Thai Embassy,with INSEE Cement represented by Chairman and CEO Nandana Ekenayake, and Head of External Affairs and Channel Development, Chandana Nanayakkara.

“We appreciate the support of the Siam City Cement Public company, Thailand in procuring of the 10,000 vaccines, from Siam Bioscience Company of Thailand, and believe that our immediate and timely response to the urgent request made by the Ministry of Health serves to address the critical medicine shortage and help save lives.”
