Forever endeared to the hearts and minds of  Sri Lankans all over, TrailSL ended its historic journey across the country from Point Pedro in Jaffna at Dondra Head in Matara. A short 8 km journey from the Bodhiya began at the crack of dawn with trail stalwarts Mahela Jayawardena and Nadiya Anderson at the helm with founder’s Sarinda Unamboowe and Nathan Sivagananathan.

Joining the walk at different ‘zones’ were dedicated team members of Sri Lankan Airlines, who actively participated in the walk recording over 5000 cumulative miles (8000+ kilometers) amongst over 600 walkers. Championed by CEO, Suren Ratwatte, SriLankan Airlines chose not only to donate but also actively participate in the event and lobby for donations all over the country with over 2500 other walkers. The CSR mandate of SriLankan Airlines has long been steeped in active participation and involvement in a cause rather than merely a donation or sponsorship, starting from the management to employees of all levels.

TrailSL was a powerful initiative that saw an overflow of compassion and empathy from SriLankans from all walks of life. SriLankan Airlines, the proud platinum sponsors of TrailSL will continue to earmark other such initiatives that foster a spirit of collaboration and engagement as a part of their growing CSR objectives.
