WTC Colombo installs high efficient chillers for sustainability

The World Trade Center, Colombo, Sri Lanka’s best business address, installed the most advanced technology Water Cooled Centrifugal Chillers with extremely high operational efficiency to improve the HVAC System.


The HVAC System of WTC Colombo comprises 3 numbers of 900 TR chillers, 2 numbers of 800 TR chillers and 1 number of 400TR chiller.The recently installed Chillers are operated with low Ozone Depletion/Global Warming Potential Next Generation Refrigerant R- 514a; resulting in high chiller efficiency and energysavings.Furthermore, the chillers will substantially reduce CO2 emissions, and improve the energy efficiency of the building.


WTC Colombo is the first and only Commercial Building in Sri Lanka to have received ISO 50001: 2018 Energy Management System Certification.


Over the past years WTC Colombo has received numerous awards and accolades for its commitment to sustainable operations and energy management, including the Gold Flame award by the Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority as the most energy efficient commercial building.


The WTC was also conferred the Gold Rating by the Green Building Council in Sri Lanka.
