Yamaha holds grand annual dealer convention and awards

Leading automobile brand Yamaha, held its dealer convention and awards at The Kingsbury Hotel, Colombo recently.  The convention had a number of highlights, including the presence of a number of representatives from Yamaha Japan. Among the dignitaries present were Associated Motorways (Pvt.) Ltd Group Managing Director Samantha Rajapaksa, Yamaha General Manager Shehann De Soyza as well as Goan Takahiko, Yamauchi Minoru, Ohno Izumi, Yamada Takashi, Kawashima Riuji and Kawamura Hideto of Yamaha Japan, marking the largest delegation from the parent company to attend an event in Sri Lanka.

Kicking off the convention was the presentation of awards to the best dealers including, the best dealer by province, all-island, the youngest and oldest dealer, and felicitation of longstanding partner awards to dealers that have been with Yamaha for over 10 years.

A major highlight at the event was the launch of the Yamaha Saluto 125cc Disc Brake with Bluecore technology. The new technology is said to increase fuel efficiency by as much as 15 percent, while it is also the lightest 125cc in the market. Among its many features are an air-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 2-valve engine, front disc brakes, tubeless tyres on black alloy wheels and a wider seat.
