A bid to rescue a sinking ship?

The Blue Diyawanna politicos who recently defected to Pohottuwa are said to be receiving endless calls from the former Madam and her close followers asking them to return to the old as arrangements are afoot to hold a national convention of the party.

However, none of these defectors has so far made a positive request to this insistent plea, they say.

The former Madam has now planned to bring a large crowd to the proposed convention with the assistance of several Green stalwarts as well with whom she had recently got around, in a bid to demonstrate her popular support to Number One and the Pohottuwa leadership.

A move is also afoot to adopt a proposal at the convention to appoint the Madam as the party leader after removing Number One from the leadership, they say.
