A bid to revive one time giant in politics!

Number One has now launched  a new operation to revive the Green party by adding new blood from other political parties, they say.

For starters, he has invited the willing groups in other political parties to throw in their lot with his party.

In this regard, the 10 Pohottuwa Diyawanna dissidents who have already crossed over to the Green party are said to be in the thick of wooing Diyawanna politicos from other parties. Two members each  from Gampaha,  and one each from Polonnaruwa, Kurunegala and Kegalle are said to be among those busy lobbying in this bid to give a new lease of life to the Green party!

Meanwhile, formation of a new party alliance also is said to be underway to proceed steadily on a path of victory after capturing the provincial administration! 

However, there are two Diyawanna politicos who are being intensely wooed, but they are said to be still straddling the fence. One of them is said to be from a leading family in Gampaha and the other is described as a son from the South who entered politics following in the footsteps of his father!

Top posts in the Green party are on offer to these two reluctant ones in the event of their joining the party, they say!
