Another lady to enter the race for the coveted city office?

An animated discourse is said to be going on in the Telephone party regarding as to who should be nominated to contest for the main chair in the city council at the upcoming local government polls.

The name of the Telephone Diyawanna member ‘Mujib’ was being  mentioned in this connection from the very outset, but this member is said to be now between two minds over accepting the candidacy after giving up his Diyawanna seat given the likelihood of the polls being postponed at the eleventh hour which could result in his falling between two stools! 

Meanwhile, some party sources say that the lady from Kolonnawa ‘Hiru’ is also seeking nomination for the high office through an influential person!

There is a possibility of “Hiru’ being given the nomination as the most influential female in the party is backing her and the party chief is not likely to ignore the latter’s wish, they say.
