Both were losers!

There were two leading Pohottuwa politicos in this particular district and they had been informed that only one of them could be offered a portfolio as the size of the interim top team had to be kept small. However, both had expressed the wish to have it! 

Meanwhile, one of the politicos had learnt that a move was afoot to offer the portfolio to the other one in the district and he had protested saying that he would commit suicide by taking poison if the portfolio meant for the district was offered to his rival. 

Later, the top authorities had decided not to offer the portfolio to either, they say.
