Canvassing through social media!

Now that Shantha has quit the national list to make it to Diyawanna direct from the preference list, it is the Blue party led by Number One that has got the turn to fill the former list’s vacant slot.

While there are many hopefuls eyeing the vacant seat, it is an aspirant from Kolonnawa who is said to be pressing his claim with much vigor, they say.

The Kolonnawa hopeful who once failed to win the race, is said to be trying his level best to attract Number One’s benign attention through a rash of Facebook posts publicizing his credentials. In some of the FB posts, he had called himself ‘the only reliable faithful of Number One’, which, by the way, have drawn derisive responses from many people.   

However, Number One is yet to make any response to the feelers that the man is putting out, they say.
