The former Number Two was a troubleshooter who gave a ready ear to the grievances of all his partymen. And many had sought his advice and guidance. Now that he is divested of all his high positions, he is said to be holding himself aloof from those coming to him to air their grievances. 


Now most Pohottuwa Diyawanna politicos are said to be looking on the Number Two of the interim government as their ‘saviour’. In fact, a politico from Negombo and another one from a township beyond Negombo holding top team rank are said to be spending much of their time in the company of the Number Two. 


In fact, ‘Green-place’ these days is fast becoming more-or-less a rest house for some of the despondent Pohottuwa politicos, they say.
