He didn’t remain neutral after all?

Government top men going through a post-poll analysis have discovered to their surprise that Pohottuwa in Pulatisipura had polled about twenty to thirty thousand votes less than the estimated mark, they say.

They have also received intelligence that although the former Number One vowed to remain neutral, all in his family circle had supported the Swan. Donations amounting millions offered by a family member known for his generosity are no longer a secret to the bigwigs of the new government. They have also received information relating to an order placed with a printer in the Kelaniya area to bring out a poster to be put up all over the country the day following the poll and the order had been cancelled at the eleventh hour when it became evident that the tide was in favour of Pohottuwa, they say.

Reports that have reached the Nelum Mawatha reportedly reveal that the most influential one in the Pulatisipura family had issued specific instructions to his immediate aides like security men and drivers how to use their vote at the poll.

Meanwhile, a former governing one, a one-time acolyte of Aiyo Siri whom he ditched later, is said to be wooing the Pohottuwa high-ups just to get a chance to spite the former boss, they say.
