He didn’t want to sit with his detractor

A high-level conference on the country’s security situation was held the other day. However, Number One had informed the white-collar high-ups in advance that he would attend this conference only on condition that a certain top team member would not participate in it. 

“This man has been telling at various discussions that the tragedy had occurred due to shortcomings on my part as the head of State. Why should I attend meetings to sit with people who are targeting me!” Number One had told his aides.

The top team member whose company, Number One detests now is a politico who played a lead role in promoting the candidacy of Number One at the 2015 big poll. His son too was at the vanguard at the poll campaign in support of Number One that followed. 

However, some peacemakers who intervened had succeeded in getting Number One to withdraw his objection to the presence of the top team member in question at the proposed conference.
