He got his just desserts!

The social media recently gave publicity to a news item that said that a certain former purohita despite being a Pohottuwa politico had tried hard to rally support to defeat the Electricity (Amendment) Bill presented in the Diyawanna council the other day. 

Although the allegation  said that the former purohita, a politico from the upcountry known to be frequenting the ‘palace’, was trying to defeat the Bill, the top team member in charge of the subject managed to ensure its passage in the council.

Meanwhile, the former purohita had got livid on hearing that some  government Diyawanna  members were behind giving publicity to the allegation that he tried to prevent the passage of the Bill and he had complained to the Pohottuwa bigwigs that the government Diyawanna members in question had tried to sling mud at him by making a false allegation. 

The former purohita had also railed at several people who had shared the said news item. However, those who had to face the former purohita’s wrath, had made it a point to give the allegation further publicity in the country, they say.
