The effort made by the government recently to elect a chair for a certain select committee of the council had led to an uproar, they say. By the way, there is hush-hush going on both among the rank and file and at upper levels about a certain bigwig who had failed to throw in his lot with the operation launched by the high-ups in this connection, they say.

The bigwig who played truant had reportedly even failed to attend the meetings called by both the Number Two and Council Chair in connection with the operation. And some government high-ups are angry that this bigwig had even observed a studied silence at the debates held in connection with the election of this select committee chair, they say. 

Discreet inquiries made by the government high-ups later have revealed that the bigwig who played truant is eyeing the Number Two office in the country and he is particular about not antagonizing the Telephone party for he has planned to get the support of the latter as well in achieving his ambition!

However, all present  indications are that unfaithful government stalwarts like this bigwig will lose their high office in the near future, according to the opinion being  voiced by the govern ment backbenchers, they say.
