Hope springs eternal in human heart!

While the crisis in the Green party over the selection of a candidate for the big poll is deepening, several other party seniors too have begun entertaining the hope of being the candidate.

 A well-heeled top team member of the party had the other day surprised a group of young Diyawanna members who called on him by revealing to them his cherished ambition.  “What about my credentials for the top office given the business network I have built up and the service I have already rendered as a politician?” he had asked the party’s young Diyawanna members. The young members who did not hide their surprise had asked the top team member whether he had seriously considered entering the fray as the party nominee.
“Why shouldn’t I run for the high office given my proven capacity”, he had asked.
None of the young Diyawanna members wanted to contradict him, they say
