Is a split in the Blue party in the offing?

A group from the Blue party is said to be set to team up with the Telephone party and their plan is to persuade the party chief to go into an alliance with that party.

However, the Blue party chief is not willing to have to any truck with any other party as he himself is keen on running for Number One. However, the dissident group insists that the party should enter into an alliance to ensure the victory of a common candidate!

The dissident Blue party group is said to have decided to throw in their lot with the Telephone party after joining the recently founded organization dedicated to protecting the Blue party and the ‘Lion’ of Kalutara too is happily backing this move.

However, ‘Loku Madam’ is expected to advise the dissident group not to quit the party. Now all interested sections of the Blue party are said to be anxiously awaiting further developments in the situation, they say.
