It was only a slip of the tongue!

The former Number One from Pulatisipura had got offended on learning that the former strongman – now Number Two – had referred to him simply by name while making a statement to media recently.

However, The Pulatisipura politico had felt it not proper to mention about it directly to the former strongman and decided to convey his disquiet through his latest confidant – Blue party secretarial one.

Later, the Blue party secretarial one had brought up the issue during a meeting with the former strongman. “Our boss is much worried that you had, Sir, referred to him in a way bordering on disrespect to him!” he had told the former strongman. Then only it had occurred to the former strongman that he had made a slip of the tongue while speaking to the media. 

While explaining what had happened as something purely unintentional on his part, the former strongman had told the secretarial one:  “This reminds me that there was a time when even some womenfolk used to pull my leg referring to the story about the guest at the egg hopper breakfast…! By the way, to come back to the present, there was much opposition to my decision to accommodate him in our new alliance formed in view of the upcoming general poll! And I had a tough time in quietening those opposing him …You kindly ask him to concentrate on his election campaign without bothering about the slips of the tongue of this type!”
