Riddle of a collective absence!

A Green party top team member holding a key portfolio held a celebration at a leading assembly hall in the city to mark the 40th Anniversary of an establishment coming under his purview.   

Both the Number One and the Number Two of the country attended this ceremony as special guests.   

However, none of the Government Diyawanna politicos from whatever rank had attended this celebration though about 70 of them had been duly invited to the event.   

None could account for this unusual absence of the Government politicos at this important ceremony. Nor could anyone say whether they had boycotted the event as a mark of protest either.   

However, the top team member who had organized the event is said to be a popular character among the party ranks. His name is also mentioned as a possible candidate for the upcoming big poll.  

The absence of party’s Diyawanna politicos at the event continues to be a riddle, they say.
