Rivalry delaying the power supply?

A popular singer, whose songs often conjures up charming damsels, is nowadays visiting Buddhist temples across the country to look into their urgent needs.

Recently the singer had visited a temple in Kuragala in Ampara and found the unavailability of power supply to this temple as a major shortcoming.

He later posted on Facebook a request to Punchi Dasa to take the initiative to supply electricity to this temple.

However, it was a kind-hearted Nayake known to be a rival to Punchi Dasa, who had been quick to respond to the singer’s request.

He had also taken a swipe at his rival saying that building houses alone would not suffice, and they should be provided with electricity as well.

Meanwhile, reports say that the kind-hearted Nayake’s move to supply electricity to the Kuragala temple has hit a roadblock and the indications are that the temple will be without electricity for a further period, they say.
