Several Green politicos who campaigned for the Swan with gusto have suddenly made themselves scarce, they say.

 

 


One of these politicos who has gone out of the public eye is from Uva; two others are from the South and the other two are from the West. One of them had got a ‘boo’ treatment from the crowd at a campaign rally held at a place close to a main city in the South. 


Some of these politicos have gone into the silent mode giving into pressures from family intimates. One of them is said to be perturbed over the possible loss of his high office. 


Yet another Green stalwart has decided to maintain a low profile in the run-up to the big poll as a token of his sympathy with the two to three unhappy ones above him. 


However, the fact that these politicos have thus dropped by the wayside has acted as a tonic for a young Green set as well as some others from the other parties in the alliance to embark on the campaign with a new burst of energy, they say.
