The 15-member- Blue group that severed their ties with Number One to throw in their lot with the former strongman are an unhappy lot, they say.

They had recently called on the former strongmen and complained that some leading lights in the JO were meting out the step-motherly treatment to them.

They had complained to the former strongman, the de facto JO and Pohottuwa leader that the group members were being systematically marginalized by some JO high-ups. They also had pointed out that they were being kept out of the ‘Pilisandara’ programme now being conducted at the grassroots level by the Pohottuwa organizers. They also had pointed out that a group member from an electorate in Galle district was not invited to the Pilisandara program conducted in this electorate by the Pohottuwa organizer.

They also had named ‘a young garrulous Pohottuwa politico hailing from a district close to Colombo’ as the person who had taken the lead in organizing the anti-Group 15 campaign in the JO. They had also described this young Diyawanna member as a person, lately grown too big for his shoes ‘whose downfall soon may force him to go back to selling mangosteen.’
