Why door was closed on him

There was much speculation in political circles and the public domain in the recent past about the circumstances that led those in the highest echelons to bar the currently sidelined khaki chief from attending security council meetings.

Some people even likened the security council without the Khaki chief to the Hamlet without the prince.

Meanwhile, the palace sources said that attributing a ‘disproportionate news value’ to the fact the security council was meeting without the khaki chief was a subtle attempt to place a very high authority in a poor light.

By the way, one day Number One was chatting to a group of his party members when a senior stalwart asked him why the khaki chief was being kept out of the security council meetings.
Number One who greeted this query with a loud guffaw explained why he had to declare the council meeting out of bounds for the khaki chief.

“I noticed that that this worthy had made it a practice to ‘play’ with his mobile phone all the time instead of carefully following the proceedings of the council.  I was waiting for him to give up this bad habit. But he persisted with it. So, I decided that his presence at the council meetings could be dispensed with if he was not interested in its proceedings! That’s all there’s to it!”
