Several loyalists of the former Madam called on a disgruntled Minister at his upcountry residence the other day.

The mission entrusted to them by the former Madam was to convince the unhappy Minister that he could look forward to a better political future if he switched allegiance to the Compassionate One.

The Minister was engrossed in a serious discussion with the Madam’s envoys when several courtiers from the palace suddenly appeared at his door step. The Minister who went into a panic locked up the guests inside a room before greeting the new visitors.

The visitors from the palace assured the Minister that be had already taken measures to redress all his grievances adding that there were many more good things waiting for him. Delighted at this sudden turn of events, the Minister assured the courtiers he would remain loyal to the Big Boss come hell or high water. The mission accomplished, the courtiers said adieu to the Minister.

The Madam’s envoys who emerged from their brief internment showed no interest in resuming the interrupted discussion for they overheard the dialogue between the host and the courtiers from behind the locked door and realized that their mission was a failure.

The Minister looked much relieved when the Madam’s loyalists also said good bye soon thereafter, they say.
