A political party leader has come under heavy pressure from an unsuccessful party candidate at the last general poll to take necessary steps towards removing a young Diyawanna member who is now at the centre of a raging controversy.
The party candidate who failed in his bid to enter Diyawanna has, of course, a personal reason for seeing the removal of the young politico from the council; he is the next on the list of preference votes having trailed closely behind the young politico in the race.
