101st RCGC Club Championship Club Championship reaches quarter-final stages

The quarter-final match ups of 101st Club Championship of the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) will be worked off today. 

Tee off will be at 12 noon.   

The pick of the quarter-finals is between Nirekh Tejwani and Viran Perera, and Reshan Algama and Suhayub Sangani. 

Algama, the 14-year-old who will be the youngest in the Gents event, reached the quarter-final stage last year shocking some big names. 

Whilst the top 16 produced some solid golf, top seeds Sachin De Silva, Rusi Captain and Amrith De Soysa qualified in the first half with Tejwani, a junior and talented golfer, finishing on top of the ladder. 

Algama gave an impressive fight to Rusi Captain (last year’s runner-up) in the pre-quarters.   

The Ladies Club Silver quarter-finals will take place tomorrow (26) while the Ladies Browns quarter- finals will take place today in the after-noon at RCGC course.   

The semi-finals will take place on Saturday (27) with the finals on the following day.
