Along with Thejas, Reshan Algama, Jacob Norton, Vinuda Weerasinghe and Javhn Sathasivam, all youngsters below the age of 18 years, moved forward to the top eight who will battle it out for a semi-final berth at their club course

The youngest of the lot 12-year-old Thejas Rathis Kanth booked his place in the quarter-final stages of the 102nd Royal Colombo Golf Club Championships, beating Chandana Gunasekera in the 18th hole to win 1-up. 
Along with Thejas, Reshan Algama, Jacob Norton, Vinuda Weerasinghe and Javhn Sathasivam, all youngsters below the age of 18 years, moved forward to the top eight who will battle it out for a semi-final berth at their club course. 
Meanwhile, defending champion Amirth de Soysa kept his title hopes alive when he got the better of Rusi Captain 3/2. 
The major shock was the defeat of top class golfer Sachin de Silva by Shamal Perera.
 
The quarter-finals will be played from August 11 with Amrith de Soysa facing Thejas Rathis Kanth, Vinod Weerasinghe taking on Jacob Norton, Shamal Perera against Vinuda Weerasinghe, and Reshan Algama versus Javn Sathasivam
The Bronze and Silver segment of the Ladies competition also moved towards its quarter-final stages.
