Men’s Singles Final – Ashen Silva beat Thehan Wijemanne 3-2 (5/7,6/4, 3/6, 6/1, 6/3)

Ashen Silva bagged the Men’s Open singles title of the 108th Colombo Tennis Championship when he defeated Thehan Wijemanne in the five set encounter by three sets to nil in the final played at the SLTA tennis courts in Greenpath, Colombo.

The thrilling encounter saw Ashen undergoing an early setback after conceding the first set and Thehan took the lead by taking the second and third set to lead 2-1. But Ashen undeterred came back with vengeance to make a clean sweep of the remaining two sets to pull off a thrilling 3-2 win.
