Defending champions Sri Lanka cruised to a convincing 67-49 victory over Singapore in their 12th Asian Netball Championship second round fixture played at the OCBC Arena in Singapore yesterday.
Sri Lanka, who have already secured their place in the semi-finals, remained as the only unbeaten side in this 11-nation tournament and will meet Hong Kong in their Group ‘E’ last match today.

Singapore have won the Asian Netball Championship on three occasions in 2005, 2012 and 2014 and have emerged runners-up five time in 1989, 1993, 2001, 2009 and 2018.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Coach Hyacinth Wijesinghe and Skipper Gayanjali Amarawansa said that they expected a much better contest from the Singapore team. They further revealed that their main goal is to maintain their unbeaten record throughout the tournament and believed that they should be able to overcome today’s challenge against Hong Kong more convincingly.
