26 teams in the fray for Major League three-day tournament

The three-day Major League cricket tournament which is the premier domestic tournament will get underway from August 19 and will see the participation of 26 teams which is divided into two groups.


Group ‘A’ comprises of CCC, Police SC, Ragama CC, Kandy Customs CC, Colts CC, Galle CC, BRC, Sebastianites CC, Moors SC, Kurunegala YCC, SSC, Kalutara TC and Lankan CC while the teams in Group ‘B’ are NCC, Ace Capital CC, Chilaw Marians CC, Bloomfield C&AC, Army SC, Panadura SC, Saracens SC, Nugegoda S&WC, Negombo CC, Navy SC, Tamil Union, Air Force SC and Badureliya CC.


Twelve matches are down for decision in the first round slotted to be played from August 19 namely Ace Capital CC vs Saracens SC at Reid Avenue, Air Force SC vs Navy SC at Katunayake, Army SC vs Bloomfield C&AC at Panagoda, BRC vs Police SC at BRC, Colts CC vs Kandy Customs CC at Colts, Galle CC vs Ragama CC at Galle, Moors SC vs Lankan CC at Braybrooke Place, Negombo CC vs Badureliya CC at Katunayake, Panadura SC vs Chilaw Marians CC at Panadura, SSC vs CCC at SSC and Tamil Union vs NCC at P Sara Stadium with the match between Kalutara TC and Kurunegala YCC to be confirmed.
